Kim BERNARD, piano
Born in Hyères in 1999, Kim Bernard studied piano from the age of 5 with Michelle Mary. In early 2008, he met Bernard d’Ascoli and Eleanor Harris and became a student of Piano cantabile. In June 2011, at the age of 12, he obtained his D.E.M. in piano unanimously with congratulations from the jury. In 2012, he won first prize in the Montrond-les-Bains international competition in the under-17 category, then first prize in the Nuits pianistiques competition in Aix-en-Provence. In the fall of 2013, he was admitted with exemption to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Lyon in Florent Boffard’s class. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in June 2016 and then his master’s degree in 2018 in Laurent Cabasso’s class. In November 2018, he began a concert cycle at the CRR in Paris in Jérôme Granjon's class and won third prize in the Cziffra competition in Senlis. He gave recitals at the Mucem in Marseille and at festivals in the Var region in the summer of 2019, then as part of the "Young Talents" programs at the Petit Palais in Paris. In the summer of 2021, he took part in the "Un été en France" concert tour with Gautier Capuçon and shortly after became the first laureate of his foundation. In this capacity, he recorded his first album: "Chopin, Debussy, Ravel" under the Warner Classics / Erato label in the "La Fondation Gautier Capuçon présente" collection. Since 2022, Kim Bernard has begun an Advanced Cycle in the class of the great professor Rena Shereshevskaya at the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris.
He is also fond of chamber music and has performed very often in a duo with Gautier Capuçon in various festivals and various programs: Verbier Festival, Variations musicales de Tannay, Impérial Annecy Festival, Philharmonie de Paris, Wigmore Hall in London...
